The leader of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), Cameroon’s main opposition party in Cameroon was temporarily detained by separatist fighters on Saturday 27, April 2019. Mr John Fru Ndi was leading a funeral convoy to Bui Division in the North West Region when gunmen intercepted the convoy and whisked the SDF Chairman away.
Video circulating on Social Media show Mr. Fru Ndi being questioned by unknown individuals. The Ambazonian Defense Force (ADF) published the video and claimed responsibility for the brief detention.
