Retired N.B.A. star Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna and seven other have died in a helicopter crash on Sunday near Calabasas, California. According to law enforcement officials, Bryant, 41, was on his way to the Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, Calif. to coach his daughter.
The crash also claimed the lives of college baseball coach, John Altobelli and his wife, Keri and daughter, Alyssa. The identities of the pilot and three other passengers who died in the crash are yet to be announced.

President Trump called the reports of the crash terrible news. He tweeted “Reports are that basketball great Kobe Bryant and three others have been killed in a helicopter crash in California. That is terrible news!”.

Kobe’s dead accurred just hours to the Grammy Awards. Lizzo opened this evening’s award show, announcing “Tonight is for Kobe” and performed her hits Cuz I Love You and Truth Hurts. The host, Alicia Keys then took the stage and paied tribute to Cobe, “Here we are together on Music’s Biggest Night, but to be honest with you, we’re all feeling crazy sad right now because earlier today, Los Angeles, America and the whole wide world lost a hero, and we’re literally standing in here heartbroken in the house that Kobe Bryant built.” she said
